I will be the first to admit that I am not a quilter and I've only been sewing for about a year. That's not quite true, but I figure the little teddy bear purses I made in 3rd grade with my mother's sewing machine don't count!
Recently, I saw several stampers with these cute shabby bags & thought well I can make one of those. Sure enough it was easy as baking a cake from a box.
I used 3 different fabrics and needed about 1/2 a yard of each, plus an extra 1/4 for the handles.
As my batting I used the "crib" sized quilt batting.
Of COURSE I used my Big Shot to cut out my squares. Why go through all the trouble of cutting out all those squares when I didn't have to, plus the Big Shot can cut out 8 layers of fabric at a time. For this project I used the Scallop Square Die and the Flower Folds die.
After I had sewed all the squares together I then washed it and dried it to shabby it up a bit. After all that I added my cute flower. I feel this bag turned out great for my first ever quilting project!
Here are the details for the Big Shot & Dies (Click on the pictures of the product and it will 'click through' to my website)

Beautiful. This is on my to do list for this week!
