Whoot Another Week Another Challenge!

Can you believe that summer is almost over.  Me either!  Where did it go?!?!

This week's sketch is a quick one.  I should of times myself because I think I was under 10 min.  It's great for all those "Oh, my I forgot to make a card" moments.

Simple and quick!  Of course I added my own twist on it by using circles.

As You See It Challenge #49!

Can you believe that we have been doing the challenge blog for almost a year!  Me either!

This weeks challenge is a COLOR challenge.

Are you loving the Blackberry Bliss color?  It's a brand spanking new in-color that Stampin' Up! just came out with.  Love the richness to it.

Here is my upbeat card for the week. Enjoy!

As You See It Challenge 41

It's a new challenge week!  This one is an all play, of course.

This week choose your newest craft supply and use it!
I chose the new Blendabilities Markers from new Stampin' Up! catalog.  Love them!  Some of you may of heard of Copic markers.  Blendabilities are the same type of marker as those, BUT they come in Stampin' Up! exclusive colors.

Sorry, my picture isn't the greatest (having some technical issues around my house) but you can see how the colors on the flower blend together.  Each Blendabilites set comes with three markers; dark, medium, light of the same color.  The set I used was Rich Razzleberry.

As You See It Challenge

Tag, your it!  That is what this challenge reminds me of.
Here is this weeks design.

I took inspiration from the sketch and added a couple of layers of designers series paper to it.
I figure this is a great card for some of the graduation parties that I have coming up.

Lovin' this paper that is in the occasions catalog & only around till June 1st!

As You See It Challenge

It's theme week!!

How many of you include animals on your cards normally?  Not me.  Maybe, for a baby shower card but that's about it.

So I scrounged around in my stamp room and came across this elephant that I have always liked.  He's such a party animal so a happy birthday card it became.

Please play along with us at www.asyouseitchallenge.com this week & show off your animal inspired project!

House of Blues, speed style!

Are you ready for a new style of challenge?  This one is sure to get your heart pumping.
Here's the rules:  You need to focus on shades of blue and do it in 10 minutes or less!

I have to admit this challenge did make me panic a bit, but in the end it all came together.  I used the Best Mate stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s occasions catalog along with matching paper.

It's Friday!!!

Phew, thank goodness.  It has been one of those weeks for me.  Mainly because it continues to snow in Michigan.  Enough already with the snow Mother Nature.  I am so ready for sun & warmth.

This week is another great sketch put together by Amanda from the design team.

I'm not sure if tags ever went out of style but I do know that they are back in!  What a quick and easy layout for this week.  You can adapt it to fit your needs of course, but we would love it if you would play along with us.

I had to show off the great Sale-A-Bration paper that Stampin' Up! has available now.  However it will be gone forever on the 31st.  It's free with any $50 product purchase.
I'm trying to get ahead in planning for my daughters birthday in April, so these may be the invites for it.  I'm thinking it fits Adventure Baby for sure, bright with a cupcake!  :)

As You See It Challenge

Is it spring where you are yet?  We still have many many snow plies the size of cars here in Michigan that need to melt & be on their way!

This weeks challenge is another great one.  Check it out:

And here is my design.  I used mainly Sale-A-Bration products that will only be around for another week!  Make sure you check them all out at www.taraangus.stampinup.net

Behold the Power of Two!

It's theme week in honor of fellow Design Team member Tamara that is having twins this fall.  Everything is better with two, right?!?!  I'm super excited for her and her husband as they start this new adventure.

The challenge of this week is Two's.  It could be two of a stamp, a punch, or just a two theme. Please play along with the challenge with us.  Excited to see what everyone comes up with.

Here is what I came up with.  I wanted to make a non-traditional baby card with a twist.  To be honest I struggled with it but in the end I think it turned out just right.

As You See It Challenge #27

It's spring! Ok, maybe not we still have about 2 feet of snow on the ground here in Michigan but at least the sun is shining today.

It's another great week for a challenge!  Thank you to all of you that have participated in the challenges so far.  I LOVE seeing your creations each week.

Here's this week's sketch:

I chose to make a simple card with some great geometric background paper as on of the focal points.

I also used Stampin' Up!'s crepe paper to make the flower.  It was easy to do simply by folding the paper (to make it thicker) and punching it out with a flower punch.

Hope you enjoy it & please play along at www.asyouseeitchallenge.com

Have a great weekend!

It's theme week!!!

Ahh, Polaroid cameras, love them, love them.  My dear hubby actually gave me one for my birthday last summer, but that has nothing to do with my project for this week. :)

This week theme is:

Stampin' Up! has a great framelit set that includes the Polaroid Frame and the camera that I used.  I also used gold foil paper and washi tape that's straight out of the Occasions Catalog.

Fun times don't you think?

Of course please play along with this weeks sketch at www.asyouseeitchallenge.com

Lovin' the products I used?  You can find them here:

Card fail...

So I apparently had a technical issue last week with my project.
Hmm, well here it is a week late & you can see the sketch now too.  Sorry.

As You See It Challenge

It's another week and another challenge.  Are you loving the new inspiration each week that you find with the challenges?  I know I'm glad that they are keeping me stamping & creating.

What a great & simple design!  Plus, those thought bubbles are all the rage right now.

Here is my sample using some of the wooden pieces that Stampin' Up! brought out in the Occasions Catalog.  I just quick stamped the sentiment on it with Staz-On black ink. Easy peezy.

As You See It Challenge #22

It's another week and another challenge.  If your week was anything like mine you were probably snowed in at home.  It has been snowing like crazy in Michigan for the past week with another storm to arrive on Saturday.  I'm ready for spring.

Here is this week's challenge!

Gotta love a great open ended challenge right!  Ok, I have to admit I am not a purple gal at all.  I do like Elegant Eggplant but Wisteria Wonder I have never used.  * Confession:  I had to take the plastic wrap off my Wisteria Wonder ink pad after about 2 years!!  Yikes!  *Confession #2: I think I really like the color and should of used it long ago, sigh.

Here is the card I ended up with.  I'm going to call it a sunburst card.  There are a bunch of great YouTube videos out there with instruction on how to make them.  I just switched it up a bit by using card stock and sliding the layers.  The Whisper White is actually the base layer.

Hope ya like it!

As You See It Challenge #20

20 is the new 30 right?  Ok, so it's really not but I can't believe this is the 20th challenge for As You See It.  Time flies when your having design fun!

This week's design is another great one dreamed up by designer Amanda.

My layout sure has a lot of layers and pieces to it but I enjoy how it works together.  Using the Swallowtail stamp I stamped the focal image.  Behind it I used some of the gold foil paper that I ran through the big shot and then aged.  I was able to age it by sponging on Basic Black ink and then wiping it off.  This gave it a bit more of a copper look.

Layered with some designer series paper and lots of other pieces and ribbon.

Lovin' this stamp once again!

As You See It Challenge #19

Do you know what is really in right now?  GOLD?  I'm totally a silver gal, but I have to say gold is giving silver a run for it's money.

This week is another theme week!  Use the colors Pool Party, Gold, and Pacific Point in your creation. Don't forget to upload your challenge to the blog to play along.

I chose to use the gold foil with some of our new occasions mini catalog products.  Lovin the embossing folder!

Here is a close up of the washi tape.  See I said gold was in!

As You See It Challenge #18

Hard to believe it's been 18 weeks already that we have been doing challenges!!  Time flies.  Welcome to 2014 by the way!  A new year is always exciting, like a blank pice of scrapbook paper or card stock.  It's just waiting to be filled with new experiences.

This weeks challenge is a theme.  How fun and open ended is that?

Since this weeks theme is arrows I decided to try my hand at a This & That page. This & That is a great line of products that Stampin' Up! carries that are the style of smash book scrapbooking.  Love them!  So here is my first one.

I used three small arrow stamps to make the background, added some inkblot stamping, and a few other embellishments and I was done.  The picture is my Adventure Baby sucking her thumb.  I just received a Polaroid camera for my birthday when I snapped this picture of her on a calm summer morning.  Love her & she sure loves her Lovie (the little blanket).

Here is a close up so you can see that I did in fact even journal a bit.  I really despise my handwriting. I'm a lefty and it's never been my strength, but some time Adventure Baby will want to see things in my writing I'm sure.  That's the great thing about this type of scrapbooks.  It's quick and easy.
