Stampin' Up! Legacy Room

For the past several years I have been able to travel to Riverton, Utah (about 30 min south of Salt Lake City) This is where the Stampin' Up! offices and distribution center are. The building is so beautiful and a great homage to the start of SU! in southern Utah. For this post I will concentrate on the legacy room. They have great "sets" that really show the decor line that we have and of course our stamp projects. Enjoy!

September Classes

Starting in September I will be offering 2 classes a month!! This a a change from only one class a month last year. I have decided that I LOVE teaching classes and want to step it up this year, so here we go. Once a month on a Tuesday I will offer a "Technique Tuesday" class. This class will keep you up to date on all those great techniques out there. Cost will always be $10.

The other class will be most likely on a Sunday afternoon, unless there are a lot of you that would rather have that class on another day. I'm open to changing it just let me know. The class projects will vary, but will alway be great!

QUICK & EASY DVD SCRAPBOOKSEP 19 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern )

Come and make one of these great DVD scrapbooks for a friend, mother, sister, husband, or just for yourself. These make great brag books and will have space to hold 20 pictures.
You will have your choice of papers to use, that way you can make it your own.
What a hot trend to be a part of and you can say you did it yourself.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAYSEP 21 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Eastern )

Do you crave learning new stamping techniques? Want to know how to do it all? Then this is the class for you. We will meet once a month and learn a new technique that we will use on a card, an anything but a card project, and a technique card. The technique card will have all the instructions you need to recreate it later. Cost each month is $10.

Convention Recap: Some of my favorite people!

The first picture is of my room mates and I. Even though we did not all know each other (2 of them did) it was like we knew each other for years just after a couple of hours. Next year convention here we come!

Secondly, is a picture of Gwen and I. Gwen works at the SU! head office and was my DBD trainer this winter (Demonstrator Business Development). She really, really helped me kick my business into full gear. Plus, she is just a great cheerleader and encourager!

After that is a picture of Shelli (SU! co-founder) and her daughter Sara. These two are like a comedy show with stamps! I always enjoy when they stamp together on stage. PS: Check out their skirts, do you recognize the new fabric that SU! now sells? And the bling on Sara's face! Cute, Cute, Cute!
Lastly, is another picture of me and 2 of my room mates. Tami (my 3rd roomie) had to leave early that morning to fly home, bummer. Anyway, here we are at the closing session. I should add that as we had this picture taken there was a video camera on us, for a LONG time, so long it made me nervous. One of the last things that closes out the convention is the highlight video & we were in it!

SU! Convention Technique Swap (Group #3)

For this swap I used the technique Kissing With A Twist. It's pretty easy if you just follow the "rules".
Rule #1: Use a solid stamp as your background.
Rule #2: Use a "line art" stamp as your "kisser"

To do this ink up your solid stamp in the lighter color, then ink up your "line" stamp in a darker color. Stamp your "line" stamp onto your solid stamp twist and stamp again & again. Then stamp on your paper. This gives it a great marbled and funky look. Just play with the different color combinations that you can come up with. Sometimes it takes a few to get the best combo.

My blog was broke, but I fixed it!!

So, some of you may have notices that there was a weird icon message running right through the middle of my blog. It took me a couple of days but I finally figured out that my cute background had went bad. How that happened is a mystery to me, but I fixed it. Phew!

Convention Technique Swap: Turtle Skin

After attending Cincinnati Regional this past year, where we learned this technique I knew I needed to try it out.
Here are the steps:
1. Taking regular old paper towel (non quilted) ink it up by rubbing an ink pad on it.
2. Mist with water.
3. Pour clear embossing power over, spread out so it is even & heat.

That's it!

Stampin' Connection WOW Swap

When the Artistic Etchings came out I knew that it would be a perfect tin ceiling set with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

All you have to do is cut a piece of cardstock as your backing, then fold tinfoil over it neatly (like a present). Next run it through the bigshot & layer your top layers on. Viola!

Stampin' Addicts General Card Swap

Here is my Stampin' Addicts General Card Swap that I made this year for convention. This set uses all new products that are available from the NEW 2010 catalog.

The technique that I used on the tree was simple two tone kissing. What you do is ink up your "background" stamp in the lighter color that you want to use. Then ink up your design stamp and "kiss" them together. Then "huff" and stamp.

Stamp Sets: Playful Pieces Hostess Set & Many Merry Messages
Ink used: Pear Pizzazz & Poppy Parade (NEW incolors)
Paper used: Pear Pizzazz & Poppy Parade Cardstock, Incolor Patterns Designer Series Paper
Ribbon: Pear Pizzazz Stitched Poly
Basic Rhinestones Jewels

Stampin' Addicts Big Shot Fabric Swap

Check out this super duper cute onesie that I made for the Stampin' Addicts fabric swap. It's even super easy to do!
Here's how:

1. Using an iron, iron on the two sided fusible webbing onto your fabric. Make sure the the paper side is up & sticky side to fabric, otherwise you will have a huge mess. Don't ask.....
2. Cut out your fabric with the big shot. I used the beautiful butterflies die for this project.
3. Then use ribbon (Certainly Celery) to make the body. I simply folded a piece in half and put in under the fabric butterfly.
4. Iron the butterflies onto your onesie.
5. Stitch around the butterflies & wash to shabby it up.
