School Related My Digital Studio
Every year at Discovery Alternative High School (my day job) we have to make our own year book pages. This year I decided that I could quick whip out my page using SU!'s my Digital Studio. Although these pages are not very exciting, I feel it shows that you can use MDS for other types of projects. I personally think it would be GREAT if we did the whole yearbook using MDS, BUT I am smarter than the average bear, so I'm keeping my mouth shut on that one. I do not want to be in charge of the yearbook, that much I do know!
The first page is of Mr. Alston and I (we each get 1/2 page) since it is his first year at Discovery, I took pity and designed his 1/2 page with mine.
The second page is of Sharon, she keeps everyone in line at school, me included! We all know that a school needs a strong front office and she is just that! I only designed her 1/2 of the page because my principal will have the top 1/2 of the page.
Enjoy!

Fabric, Fabric, Fabric, Part #2
A couple of weeks ago I was able to attend a seminar on using fabric with the Big Shot. I was so luck to be a part of Jackie Bulthuis' group that night. Jill Olsen did the majority of the training, yes she was in MI all the way from Utah! There were some special guests that presented too. Here are some pictures of the great examples that were there.
Happy Stampin & Quilting!
Birthday CD Scrapbook
I have to admit I made this album a while ago but just got around to taking pictures of it. To make this album you need to use the paper style CD holders, I order them from U-Line. I also use a Simply Scrappin kit from Stampin' Up! With each kit you can make 2 of these albums. Super fun to use for a special occasion. Enjoy!

10 for $10 Class Cancelled.
The 10 for $10 card class that was going to be held this Sunday has been cancelled. Some of you may know that my hubby works for a church as a tech director. Well, it has been a crazy week at the church and for our church community. So, he now has to be at a funeral on Sunday. So I've cancelled my class because he won't be here to watch the little one. Sorry but this class will be re-scheduled for June. Thanks for understanding!

Animal Crackers and Build-a-bear
I made these cards quite a while ago but thought I would share now. The Giraffe card uses the faux dry embossing technique, it's pretty easy. All you need to do is punch out some shapes that are the same color as your card base and attach. This gives some great texture to your card.
The build-a-bear girl is pretty straight forward.
Enjoy!

Graduation!
This is a shout out to my Brother-In-Law Matt. He is graduating from Cornerstone University here in Grand Rapids, MI with his MBA today! It has been a long road the last two years for Matt. Not only was he a student, I'm sure top of his class, he is also a fabulous father of 2 wonderful girls & married to my sister. He should get an award for that! :) Plus, he works full time too!
The future is bright for Matt & his fam. They are making plans to move to Tanzania (yep, in Africa) in Aug or September of this year to be missionaries. You can read all about their plans and story on THEIR BLOG (click on blog).

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there! Here is the card that I made my mother this year. I am notorious for not having a card for those special days, yes, I realize that this is like an oxymoron. I sell stamps but yet don't have a card.....well this year I do.
I stamped "mom" on cardstock vellum with white staz-on and then stamped the flower on the back side. I then colored in the flower on the back side and added some glitter. Viola!
Update on Retiring Colors!
This is an update on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Website on the retiring colors! The moral of the story is, if there is a color out there that you want to have stock up NOW!
With our recent Color Renovation announcement, we have experienced a spike--much greater than anticipated--in demand for some of our retiring colors. You may have noticed in the backorder report that a significant number of colors in both card stock and re-inkers have gone into backorder status, and we recognize the frustration this may have caused you.
You may be asking yourself: didn't Stampin' Up! anticipate increased demand on retiring colors? The quick answer is yes, we did. The long answer is a bit more complicated. We based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information for previous color transitions, as well as current buying behaviors. Obviously, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases!
For re-inkers in retiring colors, as we run out, they will be placed on backorder status and those orders will be filled as quickly as we receive the product. We will continue to do this to the best of our ability through May, and then the re-inkers will be available while supplies last in June.
Card stock presents a bit larger problem, as the process of ordering and producing new paper from the paper mills is very involved, and we can't order significant quantities at this point in time without putting the production of the new colors in jeopardy (and we know you want those!). To help us be able to provide you with the card stock in the retiring colors for as long as possible, we will be substituting textured paper for some of the smooth colors--including card stock in 8-1/2" x 11" as well as 12" x 12"--where the smooth is no longer available. You will notice these colors go on backorder, and we will be filling as many of those as possible with textured card stock. Because the demand for each color varies, we are unable to provide a list of what colors of card stock will be substituted with textured, or at what point that will happen. However, if you receive a package of card stock that is textured instead of smooth, there will be a sticker on the package indicating that change. There will be no change in item code or price for these substitutions.
We realize that this is an extraordinary situation, and that this solution may not be ideal for everyone. However, we hope this will help you get the retiring colors you and your customers want for as long as possible. Please keep in mind that an instance may arise where we are unable to fill orders on a specific product, and it will become unavailable before the end of May, but those cases should be minimal, and we will communicate those situations as they may arise.
Our main goal is to serve you and your customers the best that we can, and appreciate your patience as we work through this situation.
